| Description | The specificity of the anti-Ob12 has been tested by control Ob2 and leptin in an ELISA. The antibodies reacted only with their respective peptides. The peptide sequences is the same in mouse and human Ob proteins and the antibodies should be crossreactive. Anti-Ob12 has detected recombinant mouse leptin and human leptin in both native samples by dot blot and denatured and reduced samples by Western Blots (sensitivity of about 1-5 ng by Chemiluminescent detection). Control peptide, because of its small size (2-3kD), is not recommended for Western. It is recommed for ELISA, dot blot, or for antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 ug of control peptide per 1 ug of aff pure IgG or 1 ul of antiserum) to demonstrate antibody specificity |
