The biological activity was determined by measuring the dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production by isolated human PBMC's. sRANKL, also known as ODF, TRANCE and TNF superfamily member 11, is a member of the TNF ligand superfamily. The receptor for sRANKL is RANK (Receptor Activator of NF-KappaB), a member of the TNFR family identified as a dendritic cell membrane protein. sRANKL influences dendritic cells' ability to stimulate T-cells.
