| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.216ng/ml Range: 0.313-20ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human NT-proBNP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human NT-proBNP and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for NT-proBNP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any NT-proBNP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NT-proBNP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells.
