| Product Name | Ketoglutarate, alpha (alpha-Ketoglutarate) BioAssay™ Kit |
| Description | alpha-Ketoglutarate (a-KG) is a key intermediate in the Krebs cycle, coming after isocitrate and before succinyl CoA. Anaplerotic reactions replenish the cycle by synthesizing a-KG from transamination of glutamate, or through the action of glutamate dehydrogenase. a-KG is an important nitrogen transporter. Being a key intermediate, it is one of the organic acids measured in newborns as an indicator of inborn errors of metabolism. Ketoglutarate, alpha BioAssay™ Kit provides a simple, sensitive and rapid means for quantifying a-KG in a variety of samples. In the assay, a-KG is transaminated with the generation of pyruvate which is utilized to convert a nearly colorless probe to both color (570nm) and fluorescence (Ex/Em 535/587nm). The Ketoglutarate, alpha BioAssay™ Kit is useful for detecting a-KG in the range of 0.01-10nmoles. Kit Components: K0525-01: Assay Buffer, 1x25ml. Supplied as a liquid. K0525-02: OxiRed Probe, 1x200ul. Supplied as a liquid in DMSO. K0525-03. Conver |
