| Product Name | Glycine N-methyltransferase, 1-295aa, His-Tag, Recombinant, Human (GNMT) |
| Description | Purity > 95% by SDS PAGE. Recombinant human GNMT protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Glycine N-methyltransferase, also known as GNMT, catalyzes the synthesis of N-methylglycine (sarcosine) from glycine using S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) as the methyl donor. This protein affects DNA methylation by regulating the ratio of S-adenosylmethionine to S-adenosylhomocystine and participates in the detoxification pathway in liver cells. Also it is reported that GNMT expression is diminished in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
