A cell-permeable superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic and potent inhibitor of peroxynitrite-induced oxidative reactions (peroxynitrite scavenger), but not a scavenger of nitric oxide (NO). Protects T cells from superoxide generation, caspase- dependent DNA loss and cell death. Also inhibits neuronal apoptosis. Solubility: Dissolve at 0.1M in aqueous base, then add buffer to lower pH to pH 7.0 or higher as needed. |
