The purity of the gelatin by SDS PAGE has been > 99 % and the endotoxin content was < 1.0/mg EU/mg Formulation: The product has been lyophilized from a solution of 28.6 mg/ml in PBS pH 7.4. |

| Applications | Coating of cell culture equipment (plates, beads etc.): Gelatin is used as a matrix for cells as e.g.fibroblasts. Biotinylated gelatin may be used as a matrix with the additional function of binding of biotinylated chemokines or cytokines via a avidin or streptavidin bridge. the bound chemokines or cytokines may serve as a signal for cells and/or as a depot for growth factors. as they are released very slowly. In a similar approach with biotinylated peptides as a matrix it has been demonstrated that biotinylated IGF-I was detectable for 28 days. |
