| Description | Purity 80-90% as detemined by HPLC analysis. Sequence (linear): SGRGKGGKGLGKGGA[Ac-K]RHRC-GSGSK-Biotin. Corresponds to the N-terminal sequence of Histone H4 acetylated at position 16. Applications: HAT Assay: Use 1ug of peptide per assay. A previous lot was tested by using 50ng of GCN5 to acetylate the peptide. Yeast GCN5 does not effectively acetylate this peptide since the enzyme's preferred acetylation site is blocked. Other HATs with different specificity's, such as PCAF enzyme may acetylate this peptide. Immunoblot Analysis: Used as a standard for antibodies specific for acetylation of lysine 16 of histone H4. Autoantibodies to histone antigens have been described in patients with idiopathic and drug-induced SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, and other conditions.
