| Description | Recognizes human protein plectin at 53kD localizing to plasma membrane attachment sites of intermediate filaments and microfilaments (actin) such as desmosomes and hemi- desmosomes, Z-line structures and dense plaques of striated and smooth muscle. Specifically recognizes human glia cells. Strong positive reaction is also found with endothelia, fibroblasts and infiltrating cells (e.g. lymphocytes). Species Crossreactivity: bovine, mouse, Xenopus laevis, and fish. Also reactive with HL-60, HUVEC (human umbilical cord endothelial cell line), BMGE, and 3T3 cells. |
