| Product Name | Trypsin, Porcine Pancreas |
| Description | Trypsin is a pancreatic serine protease with substrate specificity based upon positively charged lysine and arginine side chains. Trypsin is inhibited by organophosphorous compounds such as diisopropylfluorophosphate and porcine-derived inhibitors. Used in protein sequencing and tissue disassociation. Source: Porcine Pancreas Quality Control: Purity: SDS-PAGE Certified to be free of virus Unit Definition: 1 unit of trypsin causes an increase in extinction of 0.003 per minute at 253nm, 25°C, pH 7.6 using N-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester. Activity: ≥ 5000 NF units/mg protein (1mg trypsin ≥ 180 TAME units, 10,350 BAEE units, 3450 USP/NF units) Contaminant Activity: ≤ 0.25% (Chymotrypsin) Solubility: Dissolves readily at 5mg/ml in 0.001M HCl to give a white, very hazy solution. |
