VaxArray® is an immunoassay, imaging, and potency interpretation platform. When the VaxArray® Imaging system is paired with the Influenza Seasonal Hemagglutinin potency assay kit, it creates a semi-automated platform to rapidly perform singleplex and multiplex immunoassays for seasonal hemagglutinin quantification. VaxArray Influenza can be used at any stage in the vaccine manufacturing process. With its high specificity, accuracy and speed, potency determination for multiple strains can be obtained in less than 2 hours. The assay is based on a “universal” panel of subtype-specific monoclonal antibodies printed in an array format.
Sample Preparation Time:Equivalent to SRID
Assay Time:Less than 2 hours compared to 24 hours for SRID
Data Analysis Time:Automated taking less than 5 minutes
Broad Applications
VaxArray® Influenza can be used to quantify HA protein in any influenza vaccine manufacturing or research method and in almost any medium, including crude extract, bulk drug substance, and finished vaccine product. It has been shown to work with split viruses, virus like particles, as well as recombinant HA.
The VaxArray® Influenza potency assay is currently being evaluated by the US Department of Health and Human Services as an alternative to single radial immunodiffusion (SRID, also SRD) for vaccine potency determination.

Any Production Method, Any Stage, Any Medium
Regardless of production method, VaxArray can be quickly used for both upstream and downstream analysis allowing for protein recovery assessment and quantification at each stage. Consistent potency results throughout production allows for reliable evaluation of process optimization with an assay that can easily bridge to SRID.
Superior Results
In a recent study published in Vaccine March 2017, VaxArray Influenza Seasonal HA Potency Assay showed an average 97+8% accuracy compared to SRID for monovalent and multivalent vaccines. The microarray utilizes multiple antibodies for each subtype with 9 replicates per antibody in a single test. This provides high confidence results for protein recovery and quantification.
Enhance and Optimize Workflow
Traditional methods can be exceptionally tedious, taking days to produce results. Reduce your risk and enhance your workflow by implementing a platform that will provide reliable results in less than 2 hours using 10x less samples and 14x less time.
